ABOUT ME
Nice to meet you
Duncan Jack has a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College, London. He started his career in the utility sector at British Gas, working in the Research & Technology department on the purification of natural gas, during which time he achieved Chartered Chemist status.
A move to Transco shortly after the introduction of the Network Code saw Duncan providing analysis of the first winter's operation under the new trading arrangements. In particular, Duncan was responsible for establishing interactions between the Flexibility Mechanism and the developing gas spot market.
Electricity experience has included working as part of the team at St Clements Services that lead the REC response to the development of the ‘NETA’ market and contributing to the work of a number of the expert groups developing the detailed wholesale trading arrangements. Following the introduction of the NETA, Duncan joined ELEXON as a Senior Consultant. Work there included managing the project to review the Change of Supplier process, providing the assurance and communication roles on the BETTA Project and acting as an account manager for a variety of BSC Parties and Party Agents.
Since March 2006, Duncan has offered his services on a consultancy basis. He has worked in Cyprus, Ireland, Kosovo, Montenegro, Singapore, Oman, South Africa and the UK on a variety of gas and power projects in both the wholesale and retail sectors. Principal areas of work cover energy balancing, settlement and credit cover and the drafting and implementation of market rules or codes.
